Halifaxilicious

It's a recent phenomenon to add 'licisious' to any word to give it instant credibility and coolness factor. Hopefully that applies to Halifax as well. We were just watching the US election primary results from yesterday and we couldn't help but steal a quote from CNN who was talking about Obama. Just like him our favour and message is "widening and spreadening". That's right, widening and spreadening!

We had a long day of rehearsal, which wasn't so fun. You'd think that when playing for 8 nights straight, you'd probably get the day off of rehearsal. Well, you'd be wrong. We just want to keep doing the work, stay tight and make sure we're in good shape for our Friday show where we're playing for 3 1/2 hours! It will be our first Dave Matthews Band/Bruce Springsteen length concert.

The show was a good time. People we're actually chanting "ToronTO, ToronTO" by the shows end and we felt pretty good about our rock and roll representation of our city. The venue was a bit on the dodgier sign in a dodgilicious part of town (there was a glassed off area that used to be for smoking but has now been turned into a mini-Casinorama) and there was a cop car parked outside for 1/2 the show providing a free light show. But the other bands were very, very cool (Brite Vu, Chalkboard Assassins & Little Known Facts) and it was another indication of the generosity of the folks out here that a band from Toronto can be so warmly included on a bill with only 24 hours notice. Dig it.

The only concern of the tour so far is my bruise. There is discussion that it may not be a bruise at all but may, in fact, be an alien. We have decided to photo-journal its birth and/or death and if you don't hear from any of us again, it's because Mick was right and all the guys were killed in the van when the alien burst from my abdomen. Pray for us and pray for Charlottetown.
