Duck Sauce
Day 3 came cruelly - as it always does in any work week, bender or playoff run. There's the inevitable beginnings of fatigue, some bumps and bruises and the fond remembrances of home. The only member of our party who seems immune to the rigours of the road is Dusty, who stands as diligently and proudly as always. That’s just good advice, by the way. When the opportunity arises, take a rhino on the road with you.

Dusty on guard.
We played a show in Portland, Maine tonight. The two bands in front of us were outstanding. Line of Force (lineofforce.com) and Adam & the Waxmen (adamandthewaxmen.com). The kind of guys you dislike immediately because of how nice AND how talented they are. Not only did they help us load in our 2000 lbs of equipment but they introduced us to some fans and promised to get us on a bigger show here next time around. And that is truly one of the under-discussed pros of life on the road. You meet so many kind people. It’s what keeps you moving through the dark days when things aren’t rolling as smoothly as they should be.The exclamation point on the evening was the post-rock dinner at a nearby Chinese restaurant. The food was clearly portioned for Andre the Giant, there was a mysterious “Duck” sauce that seemed to be the answer to any question asked of the staff and – as is so often the case – there was a wonderful discovery in the bathroom. A video on that later.

Alex and Mt. Ricemore
We got a great piece of news today. Well, actually two if count the favourable reviews for the Indiana Jones movie. But the REAL piece of good news is that Half Truths & Whole Lies is officially available on iTunes. We have no idea why or how (as they told us it would be 2-3 months) but it's up and ready for the global masses. We can only assume they thought it was so f#$*!ng good that it simply HAD to be put on sale immediately. My regard for Steve Jobs & Apple has increased again today. We salute you! (And we'd love a commercial or a sponsorship.)

Half Truths & Whole Lies. Download our music or the terrorists win!
